This Administrator role sits within the Payroll sub-team in Finance, reporting to and working closely with the Payroll Manager to deliver an exceptional level of service. The Finance team is a centralised function supporting the whole Trust, and is one of seven which form Shared Services, the others being IT, Facilities Compliance, Data, Catering Leisure, Procurement Marketing.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Administration of the new starter process including pre-employment checks, standard contractual paperwork, references, ID documentation and setting up in payroll

Processing of all employee contract changes

Maintenance of personnel database, including updates, ensuring records are complete and up to date.

Liaison with schools to report employee matters including maternity/paternity leave, absence, ill health/sickness and safeguarding

Liaise closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure all employee changes feed into the payroll system in a timely manner

Running of reports from personnel database for internal use, and external reporting.

Administrative liaison with external agencies, for example safeguarding check providers, occupational health referrals etc.

This role will be based in Newton Abbot. You will however be expected to travel to other areas.

You must have a full UK driving license and be willing to use your own car (the client will insure your car with respect to business use) to execute your job; you will be able to claim mileage.

Participation as required in project initiatives with the whole Business Management team; participation in the implementation of cross-functional projects and initiatives being undertaken in the Business Management function.

Person Specification:

The right candidate may not have worked in a personnel administration; meticulous and organised administration experience and a positive communication style are the key attributes sought.

Essential Desirable Skill- Experience:

Experience working in office based administration.

Experience working in a personnel environment.

Computer literate; data input experience

Maintenance of computer and paper records.

Qualifications:

GCSE or equivalent English and Maths, minimum C grades.

Qualities:

Ownership - a desire and willingness to get the job done and not watch the clock

Strong interpersonal skills / confident telephone manner / sense of humour

A true team player - “that's not my job” not accepted

Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 4.30pm Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm
