A globally recognised organisation is undergoing a major digital transformation and is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead the delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performance software solutions.
This is a hands-on leadership role—you won’t be expected to code, but you’ll work closely with engineers across full-stack teams, guiding delivery, shaping architecture, and driving technical excellence.
You’ll initially manage consultancy-based engineering teams, with no direct employee line management. Longer term, you’ll play a key role in building and growing a permanent team.
What You’ll Be Doing: -
Lead agile squads of external engineers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement

Define and execute full-stack development strategies using Java or React, alongside AWS, Microservices, and DevOps

Translate technical requirements into actionable plans and present solutions to stakeholders

Champion modern DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines

Drive architectural decisions and ensure software quality, security, and performance

Act as a bridge between engineering and business functions, influencing across the organisation

Proven experience in enterprise-level software engineering programmes

Strong technical foundation in Java or React, with AWS experience

Experience leading agile development teams and working with consultancy partners

Deep understanding of DevOps tools and CI/CD automation
