Office based in Skelmersdale - with flexibility offered

£40,000 - £50,000 Basic + Bonus

On offer is the opportunity to join a long-established and reputable specialist principal contractor delivering a wide range of large-scale retrofit decarbonisation, energy efficiency upgrades and whole-house retrofit projects across the public sector, predominantly social housing. This is a hands-on Bid Writer role within a collaborative pre-construction team that values quality, accuracy, and creativity over volume. You'll be supported by a fantastic team, reporting into the Head of Bids, that pride themselves on working collaboratively, with genuine scope for professional growth and development in a stable and respected business.

The company has built a strong and trusted reputation across the country, particularly the North West, continuing to expand through long-term framework agreements and repeat business. This Bid Writer position offers involvement across the full bid lifecycle, from early PQQ and ITT stages through to final submission, producing compelling, tailored content that showcases the company's capabilities. Key Duties:

* Managing the bid lifecycles of agreed-upon opportunities, from bid review to writing quality submissions, and managing and coordinating the bid lifecycle, including post-bid activities

* Producing the initial Bid/No Bid for relevant opportunities to inform the decision-making process to pursue the opportunity, or not

* Support the Senior Bid Coordinator in the completion of more complex SQ and DPS responses

* Capturing commercial and quality feedback to drive improvement. Conduct and document a lessons-learnt exercise following feedback from each bid, driving an environment of continual improvement within our bid responses

* Developing relationships with bid contributors, including commercial and operational members, and external partners, such as design partners and consultants, to develop excellent bid responses

Experience Required:

* Experienced in Writing - across Bid Writer / Bid Executive / Proposal Writer roles

* Experience bidding into the Social Housing or Public sector

* Experience bidding on construction / retrofit / refurbishment or similar industries would be ideal, but not essential

* Commutable to Skelmersdale, and willing to be in the office more often than not
