About the Role

We’re recruiting for an experienced Mixing Operative to join a fast-paced and dynamic manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on position supporting the blending and production of materials to strict quality standards. You’ll be working independently once trained, managing blending times, meeting customer deadlines, and playing a key part in maintaining smooth operational workflow.

You’ll be handling a variety of materials—including dyes, pigment slurries, acids/bases, and bulk industrial products—while using appropriate PPE and heavy machinery. Accuracy, reliability, and safety awareness are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently produce high-quality blends by following in-house Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Prepare and sample materials for testing in an on-site QC laboratory
• Work with bulk volumes, including IBCs and blends up to 10,000L
• Operate heavy machinery safely and maintain a tidy, compliant workspace
• Manage workload to meet strict production timelines

Skills & Experience Required

• Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential)
• Pivot steer licence (advantageous but not essential)
• Strong understanding of PPE, safety protocols, and SOPs
• Experience with heavy machinery and handling chemicals
• Ability to work independently and within a team when required
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility to support other warehouse duties
• Excellent time management

Working Hours

• Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00 (occasionally 16:30 finishes)
• Friday: Standard daytime hours
• Mid-morning tea break
• Standard lunch break

Pay & Benefits

• £14.50 per hour / approx. £30,000 annually
• 20 days holiday + bank holidays (rising to 25 days after 3 years)
