We are working with a renowned regional contractor known for delivering high-quality building and civil engineering schemes across South Wales and the South West of England.

The company operates through two distinct divisions - Building and Civil Engineering - which function independently but often collaborate to deliver discipline-specific packages of work across complex, multi-sector projects.

As the business continues to grow, with a strong pipeline of secured civil engineering projects, they now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager to join their civils team.

This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the day-to-day operations of the civil engineering division, overseeing projects from tender stage through to client handover.

You will manage between two and four contracts simultaneously, depending on their size and complexity. The role requires continuous engagement with clients, as well as supporting and mentoring site-based project managers and delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the delivery of multiple civil engineering contracts, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

* Engage with the preconstruction and estimating teams during tender stage.

* Provide strong commercial and contractual oversight, supporting cost control and programme delivery.

* Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders and clients.

* Chair regular progress meetings, both internally and with clients.

* Mentor and lead multiple site teams, including Project Managers, Engineers, and Site Managers.

* Collaborate with the building division when required to coordinate multi-disciplinary packages.

* Drive value engineering and innovative construction solutions.

Ideal Candidate Profile

* Proven track record in a Contracts Manager or Senior Project Management role within civil engineering.

* Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, ideally across infrastructure sectors.

* Strong understanding of construction contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT).

* Ability to collaborate across both civil engineering and building divisions.

* Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
