A leading Tier 1 contractor within the UK water sector, well known for delivering complex, high‑profile infrastructure projects, is seeking an experienced Planner to join their growing team. You will play a key role in one of their flagship programmes, supporting delivery across the United Utilities AMP8 framework.

As a Planner, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring detailed project plans across the full project lifecycle. Working collaboratively with internal teams and the supply chain, you will ensure programmes are robust, accurate, and aligned with project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Collaboratively develop and maintain detailed project plans for the full project lifecycle.
Ensure project plans capture the complete project scope, with appropriate resource loading.
Implement Last Planner techniques across the project team.
Proactively identify opportunities and risks, monitoring critical paths and milestones and advising the delivery team of any impacts.
Review, challenge, and integrate supply chain programmes into the master project plan.
Develop programmes in alignment with internal planning procedures, including:

Implementation of required project and activity codes
Baseline creation and management
Production of programme narratives for client submission
Periodic schedule integrity and quality checks

About You

Experience working on relevant projects within the Water Industry.
Proficient in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
Strong understanding of collaborative planning processes.
Ability to interpret drawings to support efficient and accurate planning.
Capable of supporting detailed claims programme development and incorporating contractual changes.
Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
Able to work effectively under pressure and within tight deadlines.
Adaptable, curious, and collaborative, with a willingness to support and learn from others.
A technical degree in a relevant field is desirable but not essential.
