Full-Time Teacher of Food Technology Required - Outstanding Barking School (September 2025 Start)

Our Outstanding school in the vibrant borough of Barking, London, seeks a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Teacher of Food Technology to join our thriving Technology department from September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to focus your passion for food and nutrition within a full-time role in a high-achieving school serving the Barking community.

Key Responsibilities Include:

* Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and effective Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, and potentially 5, in our Barking school.

* Fostering students' culinary skills, understanding of nutrition, and awareness of food safety and hygiene practices relevant to the Barking region.

* Contributing to the school's extracurricular food technology provision and projects.

* Collaborating effectively with colleagues within the Technology department.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

* A degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related field.

* Successful experience teaching Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with experience in Key Stage 5 being advantageous.

* A passion for food, cooking, and healthy eating, and the ability to inspire students in Barking.

* Strong subject knowledge of food science, nutrition, and food safety.

* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with an understanding of the local Barking community's dietary needs and food culture being beneficial.
