Head of Engineering 
Green Power Generation Business | Renewable Energy  
Location: Remote / Field-Based | Salary: £80k - £100k + Car Allowance, benefits 

Our client is a highly respected business in the renewable energy sector. They are seeking an experienced and ambitious Head of Engineering to lead all engineering and technical operations across their various plants. 

This role offers the opportunity to shape the engineering strategy for a growing business that is making a significant impact on sustainable energy generation. You will have full responsibility for developing engineering standards across multiple operational sites and delivering both preventative and reactive maintenance solutions. You will work closely with senior leadership and project teams to deliver large capital projects and to continually improve plant performance and reliability. 

Key Responsibilities 

Create and deliver a long-term engineering strategy for current operations and future anaerobic digestion plant developments 

Provide technical direction and leadership across mechanical, electrical, civil and process engineering teams 

Oversee the design, development, construction and commissioning of new plants and major upgrade projects 

Manage preventative maintenance plans and ensure a fast and effective response to reactive engineering needs 

Ensure that all engineering activities comply with environmental, safety and regulatory standards, including ATEX, DSEAR and UK Environment Agency permitting 

Lead technical investigations into plant performance issues, carry out root cause analysis and implement sustainable engineering solutions 

Prepare and control engineering budgets, ensuring investment delivers strong technical and commercial results 

Build, coach and develop the engineering team 

About You 

Degree in Mechanical, Process, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, with a master's degree considered an advantage 

Chartered Engineer status or equivalent is highly desirable 

A minimum of five years of engineering experience, including at least two years within renewable power generation or a closely related sector 

Strong track record of leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in a complex technical environment 

Proficient with engineering design and control systems such as AutoCAD and SCADA, and able to use diagnostic tools and equipment with confidence 

Strong commercial awareness with the ability to evaluate and deliver return on investment in engineering projects 

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues, contractors and external partners 

Flexible and willing to travel between operational sites, with a valid driving licence
