Infrastructure Engineer - Kubernetes expertise

Assignment details:

• Location: London Office, onsite five days per week
• Rate: £450 per day inside IR35

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join the Technology and Information Architectures team. This role is well suited to a highly skilled infrastructure professional who can combine deep technical expertise with strong collaboration, leadership and problem-solving abilities.

You will help define requirements, design and build data centre technology components, and own testing and validation activity. As a subject matter expert, you will influence and guide team decisions, partner with multiple technical groups, and contribute to high impact infrastructure solutions across the programme.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver innovative solutions that enhance data centre technology components.
• Define technical requirements and contribute to scalable and resilient infrastructure designs.
• Build, configure and optimise core infrastructure components across the delivery environment.
• Conduct thorough testing, validation and quality assurance of infrastructure technologies.
• Provide technical leadership to the team, supporting decision making and ensuring high performance.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to support seamless integration of infrastructure solutions.
• Offer expert guidance and solutions to complex problems across multiple workstreams.
• Mentor team members to support ongoing growth, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging tools and best practices to drive innovation.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Advanced proficiency in Kubernetes with hands on experience implementing and managing container orchestration platforms.
• Advanced proficiency in Python for automation, scripting and tooling development.
• Intermediate proficiency in Infrastructure Design and IT Infrastructure Operations.
• Strong understanding of data centre technologies, architecture patterns and operational best practice.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to lead technical discussions and drive decisions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective engagement with multiple teams.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience within enterprise scale environments or complex technology transformation projects.
• Familiarity with modern infrastructure automation, CI/CD or observability tooling.
• Exposure to cloud or hybrid infrastructure models.
