Teaching Assistant

We are seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants for a secondary school in Lancaster. This role requires individuals who are experienced in supporting pupils, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN). The position involves working closely with teachers to plan and deliver activities, and provide support with routines, transitions, and behaviour management.  Must of had previous experience.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Assist in the planning and delivery of activities under the guidance of the teacher.
• Provide support to pupils with special educational needs, ensuring they engage in learning and stay on track with their educational goals.
• Help manage classroom routines, transitions, and support effective behaviour management strategies.
• Work collaboratively with other staff members to enhance the learning environment for students.
• Support the emotional and social development of pupils, acting as a positive role model.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in a secondary school setting.
• Experience working with children with special educational needs is essential.
• Reliable, committed, and capable of demonstrating compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills; must be trustworthy, punctual, patient, and confident when working with children.
