We are seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teacher to join our dynamic team in Maidstone. This role is ideal for a compassionate professional who is committed to teaching students with special educational needs. The successful candidate will lead lessons across a variety of classes, tailored to the unique requirements of each student.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences for special needs students.
  • Develop schemes of work and lesson plans aligned with curriculum objectives specific for SEN.
  • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Observe and evaluate student performance and development.
  • Provide appropriate feedback on work.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
  • Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws and school policies.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
  • Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Current DBS check in date or registered on the update service.
  • Proven experience as a Special Needs Teacher or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum and SEN strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Great empathy and resilience with the ability to motivate students.
