Where you'll fit in & what our team goals are…

The designated client groups will be made up of the regional Investments (including Equities, FI, Trading, Multi Asset, RI, Investment Solutions, UK Real Estate & EMEA Infrastructure functions) which have Regional and Global, matrix structures, requiring close collaboration with the North American part of business to ensure Global strategies, processes and initiatives are rolled-out consistently whilst safeguarding regional requirements. This role also supports other designated client groups - specifically the EMEA Investment Risk function and also the group of Non-Exec Directors engaged with Columbia Threadneedle.

How you'll spend your time…

* This role will be partnering with specific, EMEA based business areas to deliver an end to end HR service at strategic and operational level. Cover approximately 250 people in a specific client group(s) mainly based in London.

* Act as first point of contact for leaders; build and maintain strong relationships with leaders, attaining “trusted advisor” status; geared to deliver solutions which are commercial, pragmatic and risk managed.

* Support Leaders through periods of transformation and organisation change and deliver and embed change across client group(s). Specifically, support and drive the execution of organsiational design associated with the Integration of a recent acquisition, focussing on delivering "Day One" tasks and planning and delivering "Day Two" decisions (including delivery redundancy programmes).

* Facilitate management of headcount, hiring approval process and hire-plan to agreed budgets; working with Hiring Leaders and the Talent Acquisition to effectively and efficiently source high quality talent through recruitment best practice, from hiring strategy meeting through to decision and approvals execution, conducting HR interviews as required and providing oversight and control of hiring decisions.

* Advise Line Managers and employees on career mobility, cross country working and international transfer issues as required.

* Provide advice and support to leaders to resolve employee relations issues, escalating to the Regional HR Lead, EMEA and Employment Lawyer as appropriate. Engage and educate leaders to ensure active management of all performance issues through informal and formal processes and coach and advise leaders to ensure positive employee relations and adherence to policies / procedures and current employment legislation and Code of Conduct.

* Support leaders through the annual performance management cycle; coaching leaders on delivering feedback and ensure the successful delivery of the Performance Appraisal process, including facilitating Consistency Meetings and following up on outcomes, including in relation to the Risk Adjustment process.

* Collaborate with the Reward team to ensure integrity of compensation data; facilitate job matching and ensure general understanding by leaders of the Total Reward philosophy and methodology. Work alongside the Reward team to deliver the annual salary and incentive review process, placing continual emphasis on raising skill / competence of leaders through decision making and communication phases.

* Active management of HR information; maintaining approvals of changes to employee data in the leader self-service HRIS (HR Direct powered by Workday). Provide management information to Leaders in order to facilitate discussion on employment matters and to present the case for proposed HR solutions and interventions, specifically focused on delivery of global programmes and/or employee engagement initiatives.

* Ensure familiar with Senior Manager & Certification Regime implications for the client group, working with the SMCR Manager and the relevant Senior Manager (SMF), as necessary, to identify and facilitate changes to SMF/ Certified Person designations, registrations and changes to Management Responsibility Maps, Statements of Responsibility and Reasonable Steps.

* Act as HR lead on projects in support of wider HR agenda, collaborating across teams as required.

To be successful in this role you will have…

* Advanced client facing experience and process quality standards

* Experience with Financial Industry, UK regulation and compliance concepts

* M&A experience - driving and implementing complex integration on a global scale

* Significant Employee Relations experience

* Strong commercial acumen

* Team-working and collaboration with experience working in a matrix organisation - regional and functional business operating model - ability to build effective working relationships with global partners.
