Hours: 37 hours per week - Term Time only (38 weeks per year), Permanent

Salary: £20,065.60 per annum (actual) £23,519 per annum FTE - APT&C Scale 4

Location: Cambridge

Herts Resourcing Group (HRG) is working with a college in Cambridge and we’re actively looking for an experienced Learning Support Mentor - Construction to join their team. The successful candidate will support students with learning difficulties and disabilities to become empowered so that they can fully access the curriculum and successfully achieve their programme of study through their development of greater independence.

What You’ll Do (including but not limited to):

  • Support students to access the curriculums both within and outside of a classroom environment including reading out of materials, note taking, word processing, using enabling technologies,
  • Empower young people to achieve their personalised learning outcomes, including Education, Health and Care Plan outcomes and targets.
  • Adaptation of class resources to ensure students can access learning materials, i.e. enlarging text, modifying carrier language, etc.
  • Provide support outside the formal classroom setting e.g. at breaks, Lunch, and on pre-arranged trips where needed and the delivery of study programmes off the college campus.
  • Maintain records in accordance with the support guidelines relating to student attendance, target-setting and progression.
  • Undertake appropriate training and development as agreed with the Learning Support Manager

You Must Have:

  • GCSE English and Maths or equivalent at grade C or 4
  • Level 2 Learning Support Qualification or working towards.
  • Working with Dyslexia qualifications.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Supportive and approachable attitude
  • Ability to note take for students
