We are partnering with a well-established manufacturing business based in Thetford that is looking to strengthen its engineering team with the addition of an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer. This is a key position within a high-volume, fast-paced production environment, with a strong focus on equipment reliability, continuous improvement, and minimising downtime.
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off
Salary: £48,451
The RoleThis role goes beyond day-to-day maintenance. As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play an active part in electrical improvement and upgrade projects, helping to enhance machine performance, safety, and long-term reliability across the site.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across production equipment
- Fault-find and diagnose electrical issues, including PLCs, drives, control panels, and automation systems
- Support and deliver electrical projects such as machine upgrades, control modifications, installations, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Contribute to reliability and efficiency improvement projects across the site
- Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and disruption
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and compliance at all times
About You- Electrically qualified (NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent)
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic capability
- Experience working on electrical projects within a manufacturing environment
- Background in manufacturing or FMCG environments (desirable)
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Reliable, proactive, and a strong team player with a hands-on approach
