Academics are currently recruiting for a proactive and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive primary school in Basingstoke. This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children's behavioural development and emotional wellbeing within a nurturing educational setting.
In this role, the Behaviour Mentor will work closely with pupils who require additional support to manage behaviour and build positive learning habits. You will collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure pupils feel supported, engaged, and confident in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 and small group support to pupils needing behavioural guidance
- Encourage the development of emotional regulation, resilience, and positive coping strategies
- Support pupils during lessons to maintain focus and active participation
- Promote positive social interactions and healthy peer relationships
- Track progress and provide regular feedback to teaching staff and support teams
The successful Behaviour Mentor will:
- Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within a primary school setting
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills with a calm and consistent approach
- Be patient, adaptable, and committed to supporting pupils with additional needs
- Possess a positive, approachable, and encouraging manner
- Be confident working both independently and as part of a team
