NEOS Engineering Recruitment are partnered with a leading national supplier of plant hire machinery who are recruiting a Workshop Controller in the west. They are seeking an experienced professional to ensure high-standard repairs and services, coordinating breakdowns, maintenance, and customer needs in a growing team.

The Role:

As a Workshop Controller, you will be the first point of contact for workshop management, ensuring timely and high-quality plant repairs and services. This role involves triaging issues, coordinating fitters, and maintaining efficient operations to support customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing initial telephone support to triage breakdowns and resolve issues where possible.
Managing responses for on-site fitter attendance, aiming for first-time fixes.
Logging and allocating repairs to fitters, while maintaining accurate records of work and stock.
Appointing third-party repair companies, raising purchase orders, and approving invoices.
Supporting fitters by providing necessary information and parts for tasks.
Candidate Requirements:

Mechanical repair knowledge and previous experience in a service and maintenance control role.
Logical approach to prioritising tasks with strong problem-solving skills.
Well-organised, proactive, and committed to high-quality work and standards.
Good organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
Strong communication skills with a confident telephone manner.
