Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Nottingham
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum

We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering company in Nottingham specialising in bespoke machinery design and manufacture. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to lead projects from concept through to completion and play a key role in the development of custom-built mechanical solutions.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop bespoke machinery and automated systems using SolidWorks.

Produce detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and full technical documentation for manufacture.

Manage projects through the full lifecycle, from concept design and prototyping to testing and final production.

Liaise with internal teams, including manufacturing, electrical, and production departments, to ensure design feasibility and functionality.

Conduct design reviews, calculations, and tolerance analysis to ensure performance and reliability.

Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.

Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement within the design process.

Requirements:

Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Proven experience in designing bespoke machinery or special-purpose equipment.

Proficiency in SolidWorks (essential).

Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
