The role of the Community Complex Care Nurse Manager (RGN):

• To plan and manage community nursing and care services for a given area ensuring services are provided to an excellent standard and delivered in a way that encourages the involvement of clients (service users and their families) to achieve high levels of client satisfaction.

• To inspire and motivate staff team to deliver high quality client-focused services while developing team members’ skills and capacity to meet clients’ needs and creating a culture of continuous improvement.

• Ensure the delivery, by suitable persons, of the company’s nursing and care services to an agreed group of clients

• Agree personalised client-centred service outcomes, carrying out care assessments and preparing care plans.

• Work with client support networks (including parents, service commissioners, health and local authority managers and schools) to ensure efficient, ‘joined up’ services.

• Work in partnership with Care Co-ordinators and Recruitment and Quality Assurance Consultants so clients benefit from well-planned, appropriate services.

• Motivate and manage own nursing/care team, embedding the company’s values and behaviours and a culture of ‘pride’ in their work.

• Supervise (6 weekly), support, competency-check and annually appraise all team members. Maintaining a strong performance-management culture within the nursing and care team; encouraging staff to achieve high levels of clinical expertise and client satisfaction, ensuring agreed targets and quality standards are met

• Ensure team members receive appropriate learning and training in the classroom and the field, personalised to meet clients’ needs; deliver training where qualified to do so. The ideal candidate for the Community Complex Care Nurse Manager (RGN) will be / have:

• Able to work flexibly and respond quickly to changing priorities, while meeting deadlines.

• Excellent written & verbal communication skills: able to write clear, presentable reports and nursing care plans and effectively deliver clinical information to families and professionals.

• Committed to high levels of customer care and customer involvement in service delivery.

• Commitment to collaborative working, both internally with colleagues and senior managers and externally with families and professionals.
