Behaviour Mentor - Secondary School - Lewisham
Long Term Futures are working with a large, well-structured secondary school in Lewisham to appoint a Behaviour Mentor for the start of the new academic year.The school has an excellent pastoral team and a dedicated behaviour support unit. With clear systems in place, staff are supported to create a consistent and respectful environment for learning.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take an active role in supporting students who need additional help with behaviour, focus and emotional regulation.
Key Responsibilities:* Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH or behavioural needs* Work alongside Heads of Year and the SENCo to implement behaviour plans* Support students within lessons and during transitions or social times* Contribute to behaviour tracking, reviews and re-engagement strategies* Build strong, trusting relationships with students and promote positive routines* Liaise with families, internal staff and external agencies where needed
Ideal Candidate Will Have:* Experience in a behaviour support, youth work or SEMH-focused role* A calm, confident and consistent approach to challenging behaviour* Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport* Understanding of safeguarding and restorative behaviour techniques* A background in PRUs, inclusion teams or mentoring is highly desirable
Location and Transport - Lewisham, South East London* Accessible via Lewisham (National Rail, DLR), Catford and Ladywell stations* Local bus routes include: 21, 136, 185, 199, 261, 436* On-site parking available for staff
