Justteachers are recruiting confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in and around Sowerby Bridge. Whether you're seeking full‑time work or need a more flexible schedule, we have roles available to start immediately or from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience working with young people or those looking to gain school‑based experience before pursuing teacher training. You'll step into classrooms to deliver pre‑planned lessons, maintain a positive learning environment, and support students in completing their work.

Key Responsibilities

* Supervise classes across a range of subjects in the absence of the class teacher

* Deliver pre‑prepared lesson plans and ensure pupils remain on task

* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

* Support students with queries about their work where appropriate

* Maintain a calm, productive, and safe learning environment

* Provide feedback to teaching staff as required

* Assist with general school duties such as break‑time supervision

Pre‑Requisites

* Experience working with young people (education, coaching, youth work, mentoring, etc.)

* Strong classroom‑management and communication skills

* Confidence delivering instructions to groups of students

* Ability to adapt to different subjects and school environments

* A positive, resilient, and professional attitude

* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

* Reliable, punctual, and able to build rapport with students
