Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming primary school in Greenwich. This is an exciting opportunity to support our youngest learners in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), helping children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

You will work closely with the Early Years team to:

Support individual children (1:1) with specific developmental or learning needs
Lead and assist with small group activities to promote communication, social skills, and early learning
Foster an atmosphere of curiosity, kindness, and independence in the classroomKey Responsibilities

Provide tailored support to children with a range of needs, including speech and language delays, autism spectrum conditions, and social or emotional difficulties
Assist with the delivery of engaging, play-based learning experiences in line with the EYFS framework
Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to implement individual support plans and interventions
Promote positive behaviour, inclusion, and emotional wellbeing
Support children with personal care needs, where required, in a sensitive and respectful manner
Maintain accurate records of progress and contribute to assessments and reviewsAbout You

We are seeking someone who:

Has experience working with young children in an Early Years or SEN setting
Is nurturing, patient, and passionate about supporting children's early development
Can build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
Holds a relevant Early Years or Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2/3 or equivalent) - desirable but not essential
Has a strong understanding of child development and inclusive practiceWhat We Offer
