An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Band 3 Support Worker to contribute to the development of the older adult mental health services.

The post is suitable for non registered support staff, with some prior experience working with older adults with mental health difficulties.

You will need to support registered staff in carrying out a variety of mental health needs assessments and interventions, both with individuals, their carers and groups.

You will need to be confident and competent in working with individuals in a community setting and be able to work effectively in a multi-professional context.

You should have collaborative and enthusiastic styles as well as have a passion and commitment to promote service provision for older adults with mental health and dementia related needs.

The post requires that you are good communicator, and are able to adopt a flexible, adaptable and proactive approach to your work. You will be taking a role in the memory clinic supporting initial assessments, pre and post diagnostic support and treatment for people being diagnosed with dementia.

You will be benefiting from encouragement to continue to develop your own specialist skills, knowledge and competence through participation, reflection, supervision and training and your development will be guided using the Trust's appraisal process.

Induction.
KMPT is committed to supporting all new staff and this includes a comprehensive Induction programme. The duration of the programme is dependent on role and can be from 2 days to 4 weeks (not always consecutive days).
The Induction programme will provide an excellent opportunity for new staff to meet and engage with KMPT's subject specialists and will include the essential training required.
