Kforce's client, a growing Technology company in Ottumwa, IA is seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure Administrator. We are working directly with the Hiring Manager. The Senior IT Infrastructure Administrator will have the ability to work from home remotely 2 to 3 days a week.
  • Senior IT Infrastructure Administrator will support, maintain, upgrade and operate all computer/server/backup systems; Stay current on new technologies as they develop to help streamline workflow and productivity
  • Responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance, including recognizing and troubleshooting problems, for the Windows Server and Desktop Operations systems
  • Implement and maintain Windows Network Load Balanced server clusters and remote failover replication
  • As a Senior IT Infrastructure Administrator you will troubleshoot complex application problems related to configuration, network, server and application issues, and provide solutions to recovery; Drive and participate in postmortems to avoid repeated incidents
  • Subject matter expert in a minimum of two infrastructure environments/applications
  • Manage multiple IT infrastructure projects as lead technical contact
  • Establish and document standards and procedures
  • Participation in a rotation of 24x7 on-call schedule
  • On prem active directory-The environment is O365 and azure space
  • We have server clusters - and AD environment -CORE- power shell and scripting - vs standard
  • They are 95% Windows-based VMware and infrastructure - that much virtualized as well on the VMware platform- hyper converged Dell back end
  • They use enterprise class storage system - Dell EMC for back up

Job Requirements:


  • 6-8+ of system administration experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills including the creation and maintaining of documentation for processes and procedures
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and automate processes
  • Knowledge of best practices around management, control and monitoring of server OS and network equipment
  • Extensive understanding of an operating system; Understands paging and swapping, devices and what device drivers do, can use performance analysis to tune systems
  • Windows Server operating systems, Terminal Services, Exchange Server administration
  • Extensive experience with server class hardware such as Dell EMC, Cisco UCS, HP
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware
  • Experience with enterprise class storage systems
Nice to haves but not required:
  • A degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
  • Any higher education/certification in the field of Technology is helpful
  • Knowledge of backup systems, clustering, SQL server
  • Experience with O365 and azure space
  • DNS DNCP configuration - all windows with Azure
  • Experience with enterprise class storage systems
  • MSCE and/or other systems certifications
  • Experience with VoIP systems
  • Working knowledge Linux OS
  • On-prem AD Administration
  • DFSr
  • Active Directory Health
  • Active Directory site configuration
  • DNS Configuration
  • Active Directory Authority
