Financial Controller

Location: Poole, Dorset (On-site)

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 (DOE) benefits

Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent

Talent Finance are hiring for a thriving, fast-growing, product-led business that’s evolving from its wholesale roots into a dynamic international operation. With strong consumer growth and increasing complexity, they’re now looking for a commercially minded Financial Controller to take ownership of day-to-day finance operations and support the Finance Director on strategic projects.

This is a great opportunity for a Finance Manager or experienced Accountant looking to step into their first FC role, or for someone with a broad range of controls experience looking for a role that can offer broad exposure, real responsibility, in a business that’s going places.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Lead day-to-day financial operations and reporting
• Deliver accurate monthly management accounts and insights
• Manage statutory accounts and Companies House filings
• Handle payroll, pensions, and HMRC compliance (UK & EC VAT)
• Oversee stock accounting, including imports and goods in transit
• Lead balance sheet recs and support month-end close
• Support on treasury, loans, FX, and cashflow
• Work on systems/process improvements and finance projects
• Supervise credit control and help shape credit policy
• Enhance financial controls and process documentation

What we are looking for:

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or finalist with relevant experience
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and controls mindset
• Experience in a product or stock-based business would be ideal
• Background in retail, e-commerce, or wholesale preferred
• Solid Excel and ERP skills
• A confident communicator who enjoys working cross-functionally
• Hands-on, detail-focused, and commercially aware
