About the Company
The company provides a comprehensive range of civil engineering, traffic management and environmental services with specialist expertise in highways maintenance. They have been successfully operating across the south of England for over 38 years. From bridge reconstruction to groundworks; drainage schemes to vehicle restraint systems.
The works will predominantly be for their client, Highways England, on the Construction Works Framework (CWF). Experience is ideally required on Highways Works and you will report directly to the Area Contracts Manager. Based out of the Staverton office (near Cheltenham), as the Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll be in working closely with the Quantity Surveyor to tackle all commercial aspects in the region. You will therefore gain good exposure to change requests, running compensation events, help produce monthly CVR reports, as well as the application and administration of all contracts. Training will always be on offer throughout your career with this company so rest assure you will always be given the knowledge and development to meet your personal goals. This position is to assist in the commercial management of the South West region so the plan with this position is to become a Quantity Surveyor role within 12 to 18 months.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience operating at Assistant Quantity Surveyor level
- Have experience working on the contractor side
- Civil engineering experience is desirable
- NEC contract experience
- Competitive salary of up to £30,000 (depending on experience)
- 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays
