Contract Technical Buyer - Oil & Gas | Cheshire Area | Outside IR35 | 3-6 Months

Looking for your next contract in the oil & gas supply chain?

We're supporting a long-standing engineering firm in the North West who need an experienced Technical Buyer on a short-term contract (3-6 months, outside IR35). You'll be working closely with their engineering team to take ownership of supplier quotes, freeing up valuable design time and keeping projects on track.

What you'll be doing:

Sourcing and engaging with suppliers for specialist equipment and instrumentation

Requesting and comparing quotes, checking technical compliance

*

Negotiating costs and delivery schedules

*

Acting as the go-between for engineering and supply chain to keep things moving

What you'll need:

*

Strong technical purchasing experience - ideally in oil & gas or industrial systems

*

Knowledge of relevant equipment (e.g. transmitters, control components, mechanical assemblies)

*

Confidence liaising with engineers and understanding drawings/specs

*

Proven track record working as a contractor or interim buyer in similar environments
