This role is take ownership of the UK Payroll delivery and benefits administration for a global Engineering firm in Hemel Hempstead. You will be conducting end to end processing, implementing payroll controls and supporting the wider HR operations.

Description
Payroll and Benefits Specialist
Payroll Management
- Process accurate and timely monthly UK payroll using payroll systems (experience with ADP iHCM is advantageous).
- Serve as the escalation point for complex payroll queries, including tax, National Insurance, statutory leave, and pay discrepancies.
- Review, reconcile, and validate payroll outputs with a high degree of accuracy.
- Lead annual payroll activities, including P11D reporting and year-end reconciliations.
- Support Finance with audits, variance analysis, and technical payroll queries.
- Drive improvements to payroll processes, controls, and documentation.
Benefits Administration - Manage the company car scheme, including orders, renewals, approvals, and compliance activities.
- Administer a range of employee benefits such as pensions, healthcare, Cycle to Work, SAYE, and other UK benefit programmes.
- Ensure benefits data is accurately reflected in payroll and compliant with UK regulations.
- Support annual benefit renewals and employee enrolment cycles.
HR Coordination & Support - Support on boarding and off boarding processes, ensuring payroll and benefits records are updated accurately.
- Maintain high-quality employee data across HR and ERP systems, performing regular audits and corrections.
- Assist with site inductions, HR communications, and engagement initiatives.
- Support HR projects, cyclical changes, reporting requirements, and issue resolution activities.
Profile
A successful Payroll and Benefits Specialist should have:
- Strong UK end to end payroll exposure - understanding of all statutory requirements
- Experience within numerous pay variances
- Multi payroll system exposure
- Strong knowledge of HMRC compliance and tax rules
- Experience with benefits administration and partnering with external providers
- Strong excel user - pivot tables, vlookups etc.
- To be within a commutable distance of the office
- CIPP Qualification (Highly desirable)
