Long-Term Teachers are working closely with a Primary School in the BS5 area of Bristol who are currently seeking a passionate and driven Teaching Assistant who can support children within the classroom but also on a 1 to 1 basis and in small intervention groups.

This school is vibrant and diverse. They aim to create a welcoming and respectful learning environment where all children are able to identify their potential in a challenging and aspirational classroom.

The Role

The Head Teacher of this school is looking for someone who is committed to making a big difference in the lives of young children. Someone who can take responsibility for implementing planned lessons and adapt them to meet the needs of the children who you will support.

You will be working alongside the Class Teacher and other Teaching Assistants to deliver excellent educational experiences for these children to develop and challenge their abilities.

You will be expected to:

  • Engage with students and their learning.
  • Manage classroom behaviour as well as out on the playground.
  • Work collaboratively with Class Teachers and support students on a 1 to 1 basis and in small groups.
  • Be patient and supportive with children and their educational development.
  • Be able to adapt and plan on the spot with activities to meet the children's needs.
