Based in Watford, this leading Warehousing and Logistics Operation are recruiting NOW for a Maintenance Engineer to join their Maintenance team at a fully automated facility.

As a maintenance engineer, you will be responsible for completing ppm, reacting to breakdowns and completing remedial repair work in a busy warehouse environment. This will be on automated plant machinery, including 3 phase equipment (415v), conveyors, shuttle systems, high bay cranes, lifting systems and other PLC driven equipment.

Maintenance, production improvements and project work.

Faulting finding electrically and mechanically on various types of equipment onsite.

Managing health and safety

Providing breakdown cover and completing planned preventive maintenance on a fully automated distribution site. You will be responsible for maintaining all site machinery including conveyors, shuttles, robotics and more.

You will have the responsibility of keeping breakdown time to a minimum, improving machine efficiency and working in conjunction with the groups LEAN and continuous improvement plans.

To support the Engineering Team Leader in his duties in providing a highly available automation system.

As a Maintenance Engineer you should have the following:

Must have a NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification

Knowledge of programmable logic controls (PLC's) ideally Siemens S7

A relevant IEE wiring qualification (17th Edition)

IPAF Licence for Scissor Lift

Working at Height (Harness)

Rescue from Height

Strong maintenance experience, ideally from working within an automated environment.

Fault-finding ability, with the ability to fault find to conclusion.

Must be comfortable working at heights.

The ability to work within a proactive nature.

To be a competent and supportive team member and an independent self-motivated worker

Self-motivated and a proactive approach to problem solving is essential

Ability to learn and develop on the job

Ability to work under pressure

Capacity to work as part of a team and as an individual

Meeting of agreed performance and targets set
