A primary school in Newport (NP20) is currently looking to recruit a KS2 Classroom Support Assistant to join their team.

This role will involve supporting pupils within a Key Stage 2 classroom, working closely with the class teacher to help deliver lessons and support pupils throughout the school day.

The school is seeking someone enthusiastic, reliable and passionate about helping pupils progress in their learning.

Role Overview

As a KS2 Classroom Support Assistant, you will assist the teacher in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Your responsibilities may include:

Supporting pupils during daily classroom lessons

Assisting with literacy, numeracy and other learning activities

Working with small groups of pupils or providing additional support when required

Encouraging pupils to stay engaged and focused in lessons

Helping maintain a positive and productive classroom environment

Supporting the teacher with general classroom preparation and organisation

Requirements

To be considered for this role you will need:

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration (support can be provided)

The ability to travel to Newport (NP20) for school hours

Two professional references

A positive and proactive attitude towards supporting pupils

Previous experience working with children or in education is beneficial but not essential.
