Basic Maintenance Electrician
NATURE OF WORK
The Basic Maintenance Electrician position is responsible for carrying out the service work for equipment, buildings, and grounds by interfacing with manufacturing and logistics supervisors and other key personnel.
Installs basic electrical units and systems under supervision of the electrician.
Ensure all safety, housekeeping and environmental rules and guidelines are followed per quality control, ISO, OSHA and plant rules and procedures.
Appropriate handling all testing and electrical repair tools and equipment.
Handles all repairs and light maintenance of electrical, and mechanical equipment and systems.
Performs minor electrical repairs and installations.
Inspects all electrical systems and units, detects defects and reports all issues to the Maintenance Electrician.
Drive improvements in maintenance performance indicators to increase plant profitability.
Complete work as assigned to ensure efficient, cost effective and timely repairs to production/logistics equipment (including troubleshooting, problem-solving and preventive maintenance on equipment).
All other duties as assigned.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.
Supervisionis usually not a responsibility of this position, although guidance, direction and orientation may be provided to other associates assigned to assist with specific measurements or projects.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing shop setting and is essentially required to stand for extended periods of time. The associate must be required to lift items up to 100 pounds.

Ability to communicate and distribute information to others both orally and in writing.
Ability to follow safety policies and procedures.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
Proficient in problem solving and troubleshooting.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma preferred
A minimum of 2-5 years experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment required.
Must complete three IST type courses at the Local Community College.
