Kforce has a client in Fairfax, KS that is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor. Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor manages a group of Skilled Trades up to 20 people. They are responsible for managing breakdown, equipment uptime and trades training and work assignment. This is a 3 shift operation, with the opportunity to work on any of the 3 shifts. The candidate must be willing to work any assigned shift, work daily, weekend, and holiday overtime as required. Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance Supervisor implements and actively supports the plant and corporate safety policies and initiatives
  • Diagnose equipment malfunction, determine root cause and initiate immediate and long-term corrections
  • Effective use of personnel, material and equipment in supporting SPQRC initiatives
  • Implements safety and good housekeeping standards
  • Maintenance Supervisor trains, develops, and evaluates employees
  • Complies with terms of Local and National Labor agreements and supports divisional and corporate policies
  • Initiates contact with others outside of work group when required to solve problems
  • Implements planned maintenance activities
  • Maintenance Supervisor completes work assignments required within budget, manpower and timing constraints
  • Will establish, implement and maintain long-range plans for improvement of maintenance activities and provide technical assistance to the manufacturing departments supported
  • Support plant in achieving Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness and Cost goals
  • Maintenance Supervisor supports/implements the QS9000/ISO14001/(GMS) Global Manufacturing System compliance processes

Job Requirements:


  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Two years of experience in manufacturing
  • Supervisory experience with hourly employees
  • Experience with automation and robotics
  • Union environment experience is a benefit
  • Experience of managing break downs or installations
