The Opportunity:

To manage the day-to-day operations of a team of Claims staff, providing clear direction, oversight, and support to ensure the effective and compliant handling of claims within the team's remit.

Your new role:

  • Monitor processes and procedures to ensure compliance with both statutory and corporate service standards and statutory regulations
  • Process Claims via the relevant QBE systems to ensure Claims are settled at optimum figures with minimal leakage
  • Maintain efficient handling of their own caseload to ensure the prompt timely and effective handling of Claims
  • Resolve customer service issues ensuring their prompt and timely resolution to meet our service standards
  • Deal with complaints in a timely manner and Treat Customers Fairly so as to meet our service standards and our regulatory obligations
  • Work with Underwriters and claims relationship managers to ensure that client relationships are maintained or improved if required
  • Produce weekly Claims statistics to the Claims management team to enable effective monitoring of Claims 
  • Supervise a team of Claims staff ensuring that the overall output and quality of the service provided by the team is within specified levels
  • Assist in developing a culture of empowering staff in order that the performance of both individual and the team continuously improves
  • Act as a referral point for members of the team so that their technical or procedural queries are dealt with.
  • Ensure PMP and PDP in place at all times for all members of the team to support company people management goals
  • Liaise with Manager to identify training needs within the department so that learning solutions can be planned and implemented

About You

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, able to prioritize
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to use MS office applications, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
  • Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Able to produce detailed reports at various levels
