Senior Java Developer (DevOps Transformation Lead)

Contract: 6 months
Location: Hybrid (3 days/week in London, UK)
Industry: Finance (Payments/Banking preferred)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer with strong DevOps expertise to play a key role in driving a major DevOps transformation initiative within a regulated financial environment. This is a hands-on position where you will lead development efforts while implementing modern DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java-based web services with some Front End components (web and native mobile).

• Lead the DevOps transformation by introducing best practices and tools across the development life cycle.

• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Bitbucket.

• Integrate monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk.

• Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements within the financial sector.

Skills & Experience

• Strong proficiency in Java, with experience in building web services and APIs.

• Solid understanding of Front End technologies (web and mobile).

• Proven DevOps experience with Jenkins and Bitbucket.

• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools: Dynatrace, Splunk.

• Experience in regulated industries (finance, payments, banking preferred).

• Ability to work in a hybrid setup (3 days in London).

• Must hold or be eligible for security clearance.
