Must have: ERP system experience Buying/purchasing - preferably within electronics Adv excel
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Purchasing: Competitively quote and purchase machine fabrications and commercial components Source, visit and select approved fabricators and suppliers, sub assemblers Expedite purchase orders for timely deliveries Negotiate discounts, terms and delivery cycles with suppliers Strategically plan supplier deliveries to meet demanding project schedules Use the MRP system to effectively order parts and control inventory levels Research and suggest alternative suppliers to the Engineering Department Work with the Materials group performing semi-annual inventory counts Internet sourcing, selection and ordering Data Entry
Planning/Scheduling: Work with the manufacturing manager to effectively plan machine delivery cycles Plan machine deliveries based on available manpower and materials Process custom project orders assigning material delivery dates based on custom part availability and purchasing those parts. Maintain a dynamic production schedule Adjust material schedules per customer service and sales requirements Advise shop personnel of material shortages or deliveries Investigate and resolve outbound shipping shortages Participate in the Forecast meeting with Sales, Marketing and Production
Technical Service / QA: Process MUR’s assigning material available and delivery dates Advise technicians of parts availability and or delivery Work with QA to process effective materials and vendor returns Work with suppliers to correct defective material problems Participate in the Vendor rating meeting and follow up with CAR’s and warnings
Assist inventory personnel with adjustments and corrections Assist accounting with invoice problems and corrections
Engineering: Assist engineering in selection and development of new suppliers Advise engineering of manufacturing problems based on designs
Qualifications Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. International sourcing experience a plus. APICS Certification a plus Proficient in Microsoft Office Experience using an ERP system. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variablJob Requirements:
