Job title: 1:1 KS1 Teaching assistant

Location:  Gateshead

Hours: 8-4:30pm

Salary: £83 - £120 per day

We are working alongside a primary school who are looking for a proactive, kind teaching assistant to work alongside pupils with ASD, if you have previous experience working with children or young people with learning difficulties or within the Health and Social Care sector would be beneficial, however, the most important attribute is the willingness to get involved, being proactive and having a great energy.

KS1 Teaching Assistant role

• Supporting the pupils in their education through the schools own curriculum 
• Supporting the class teacher with recording attainment, behaviour plans and EHCP paperwork 
• Carrying out interventions with a 1:1 
• Following the schools behaviour management policy effectively 
• Promoting independence with life skills 
• Providing an outstanding level of safeguarding and pastoral care

The ideal candidate will: 

• Be available for work Monday to Friday 
• Have some experience with autism (desirable but not essential)
• Candidates with no experience but a willingness to learn are welcome to apply 
• Be proactive, energetic, kind and nurturing   
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to go through the process with ourselves)
• A full checkable work history
