A larger than average sized Primary school situated in Rawtenstall (BB4) has approached Teaching Personnel in order to source a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant. This is a part time position which consists of 3 afternoons per week. This school requires a Teaching Assistant in year 4 due to the recent break in education. The successful candidate would need to be available from September until October half term initially, with the chance of the position becoming long term.
The Head Teacher is hoping to find an enthusiastic individual who can offer additional support to Year 4 pupils. The main purpose of the role is to support the children in Year 4 that require a boost in English and Maths. You would be working with a small group of children outside of the classroom during the afternoon sessions. As you would be helping pupils meet targets within Maths & English it is important you have good subject knowledge in these areas. Being familiar with the National Curriculum is important. You would be liaising with the class teacher regarding the content of the intervention sessions and there would be allocated time during the week to plan with the class teacher.
The Head Teacher is looking for the following:
- Level 3 or above qualification
- Experience in the KS2 primary setting
- Confident with delivering engaging interventions
- Ability to work independently or part of a team
- Superb behaviour management
