The Best Connection are recruiting experienced Class 2 Skip Driver roles for a leading waste management company based in Blaydon. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable Class 2 Skip Driver to work across the North East, including Newcastle, Gateshead, and Durham, delivering and collecting skips for domestic and commercial customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate an 18.5-tonne skip loader as a Class 2 Skip Driver, delivering and collecting skips in a variety of environments
• Ensure all skip loads are safely secured and compliant with road safety regulations before transit.
• Perform mandatory daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects to the transport office immediately.
• Act as the face of the company, providing professional and courteous service at customer sites.
• Adhere strictly to EU Driver Hours, Tachograph regulations, and Working Time Directives as a Class 2 Skip Driver
• Accurately complete all paperwork, including Waste Transfer Notes and digital logbooks.

Requirements:

• Licence: A valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
• Qualifications: A current Driver CPC card and Digital Tachograph card.
• Experience: Previous experience operating skip lorries or hook loaders is highly preferred.
• Clean Record: Ideally no more than 6 penalty points
• Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit to assist with manual tasks and secure loads.
• Local Knowledge: Good geographical knowledge of the Newcastle and North East area to ensure efficient routing.

Hours of work and pay:

• Monday to friday
• 07:00am - 17:00pm
• £15.00 per hour
