Aftercare Manager - New Build Residential?? Reading (office based with site visits)?? £55,000 per annum?? Full Time | Permanent | Immediate Start Available
Are you an experienced aftercare or defects professional ready to step into a leadership role with real impact? We're working exclusively with a leading residential property provider who are looking for a hands-on Aftercare Manager to join their growing team.
This is your chance to take ownership of a busy aftercare function, manage and mentor a small team, and help shape processes during an exciting period of expansion. If you've worked on new build snagging and defect resolution, whether on the developer or client side and are ready to lead from the front, we want to hear from you.
What you'll be doing: -
Managing a team of three (2 Coordinators and 1 Senior), supporting their day-to-day performance and professional development

Acting as the key link between the aftercare team and senior management

Leading on the defect management process from handover to the end of the 2-year warranty period

Reviewing and setting KPIs, tracking team performance, and preparing regular reports for internal stakeholders

Attending sites and customer properties when required to inspect or investigate ongoing issues

Collaborating with external developers, contractors, and internal property teams to ensure fast, high-quality resolutions

Proactively identifying areas for improvement and implementing new processes, documentation, and policies
What we're looking for: -
Solid experience within defects, snagging, or customer care, developer or client-side backgrounds welcome

Strong technical knowledge of the new build process and the NHBC 2-year warranty period

Proven experience leading or mentoring a team

Excellent communicator who can work confidently across site, office, and corporate environments

Analytical mindset with a practical, hands-on approach

Confident in setting and managing KPIs and SLAs

Friendly, dependable, and proactive to lead with both empathy and authority
