Job Duties:
- Receive and analyze enquiries received from clients, including specification matching.
- Conduct strategic sourcing of suppliers and products, both locally and internationally, through our database, market research, and the Internet.
- Obtain all necessary information, including logistical requirements, to provide clients with accurate quotations utilizing margins and foreign exchange conversion. Prepare commercial proposals for clients.
- Follow up on quotations to secure orders, manage all queries, and negotiate with clients.
- Place and administer orders, liaising with related departments as required for end-to-end delivery, including Logistics, Warehouse, Finance, and other administrative functions.
- Engage in regular commercial activities to maintain existing relationships and establish new ones within the industry; local and international travel may be required for supplier and client visits.
- Report on profitability per job and for the department, along with fulfilling other commercial reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous (E.g. BCom, Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics,etc.)
- 5+ years' experience in similar industry (Agriculture / Energy / Mining / Construction)
- Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of technical specifications
Competencies:
- Proficient in English speaking and writing; proficiency in French or Portuguese is highly advantageous
- Advanced negotiation skills.
- Ability to multitask and strong organizational skills.
- Experience in international sourcing.
- Commercial aexposure

- Problem-solving abilities and a solution-driven mindset.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Exposure and understanding into energy or oil and gas industries.
- Understanding of supply chain management principles
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards

- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Working Conditions:
- The work is primarily office-based, with standard working hours.
- There will howver be occasional domestic & international travelling
