Job Duties:
  • Receive and analyze enquiries received from clients, including specification matching.
  • Conduct strategic sourcing of suppliers and products, both locally and internationally, through our database, market research, and the Internet.
  • Obtain all necessary information, including logistical requirements, to provide clients with accurate quotations utilizing margins and foreign exchange conversion. Prepare commercial proposals for clients.
  • Follow up on quotations to secure orders, manage all queries, and negotiate with clients.
  • Place and administer orders, liaising with related departments as required for end-to-end delivery, including Logistics, Warehouse, Finance, and other administrative functions.
  • Engage in regular commercial activities to maintain existing relationships and establish new ones within the industry; local and international travel may be required for supplier and client visits.
  • Report on profitability per job and for the department, along with fulfilling other commercial reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous (E.g. BCom, Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics,etc.)
  • 5+ years' experience in similar industry (Agriculture / Energy / Mining / Construction)
  • Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of technical specifications
Competencies:
  • Proficient in English speaking and writing; proficiency in French or Portuguese is highly advantageous
  • Advanced negotiation skills.
  • Ability to multitask and strong organizational skills.
  • Experience in international sourcing.
  • Commercial aexposure
  • Adaptability and flexibility.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a solution-driven mindset.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Exposure and understanding into energy or oil and gas industries.
  • Understanding of supply chain management principles
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards
  • Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Working Conditions:
  • The work is primarily office-based, with standard working hours.
  • There will howver be occasional domestic & international travelling
