Your new companyYour new job working as a Technician will be based in London City on a hybrid basis. Your new company is an Independent Lloyds' broker specialising in excess and surplus lines business emanating from managing general agencies and wholesale brokers in North America. This is a company that has built an enviable reputation in the marketplace, on both sides of the Atlantic, with their primary area of expertise being the development and management of binding authorities, or delegated authorities, on behalf of their clients. Due to their continued growth, a permanent role as a Technician has become available.Your new roleYour new role as a technician means you will have a surplus of responsibilities as a technician supporting the Broking team. You will be supporting the Account executive in developing new and renewal Binding Authority business as well as obtaining quotes from underwriters, including negotiating mid-term changes. You will be analysing underwriting by liaising with underwriters and clients accordingly. You will be responsible for maintaining existing facilities, including mid-term changes, and handling special acceptances. This role also has a strong emphasis on liaising with clients regularly in order to build and maintain relationships. For your technician responsibilities, your role will be more back office and will include producing slips and endorsements, managing documentation delivery to clients once bound, generating and managing invoices, submitting slips and endorsements and liaising with clients for payments and service requests.What you'll need to succeedYour previous experience working within insurance will help with your success in securing this role. You will need to be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and internal systems such as global XB (this training will be provided). You will need to pay strong attention to detail and possess good organisational skills. You must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and liaise professionally with clients and underwriters. These qualities, alongside effective communication and interpersonal skills, are vital for this position.
