Experienced Bookkeeper – Flexible 20+ Hours per Week – Office Based (Doncaster)
A well established and successful firm of Accountants is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join its friendly bookkeeping team on a part time or full time basis. The business has been operating for over 30 years and supports a wide range of clients. This role is based in Doncaster, working as part of a dynamic and growing team.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate and complete financial records for client bookkeeping
• Complete bank reconciliations
• Prepare VAT returns
• Manage accounts payable and receivable
• Communicate with clients by phone and email, responding to queries promptly
• Carry out scanning, electronic filing, and other administrative tasks as required
About You
• Minimum 3 years’ experience, ideally within an accountancy practice
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online, Sage Business Cloud, and Xero
• Confident using Microsoft Excel
• Experienced in preparing VAT returns, completing reconciliations, and familiar with VAT regulations and MTD
• Experience completing CIS returns
• Able to reconcile control accounts
• Experience producing management accounts (preferred)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to explain financial matters clearly to clients
• Excellent time management and multitasking ability
• Able to work to deadlines and prioritise workload efficiently
• High attention to detail, accurate, organised, and enthusiastic
• A strong team player
