About the Role

We are currently registering experienced School Caretakers for temporary positions across primary and secondary schools in North, West, and North-West London.

These roles involve supporting schools with day-to-day site operations, maintenance, and health & safety, covering short-term and ongoing absences. This is not a single vacancy — we are building a pool of reliable caretakers for regular temporary work.

Key Responsibilities

• Unlocking and securing school premises
• Carrying out basic maintenance and minor repairs
• General site upkeep, including playgrounds and outdoor areas
• Ensuring health & safety procedures are followed
• Setting up rooms for school activities, assemblies, or events
• Liaising with school staff regarding site needs
• Supporting contractors when required
• Ensuring the school site is clean, safe, and well-maintained

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a School Caretaker, Site Supervisor, or Facilities Assistant
• A practical, hands-on approach with basic maintenance knowledge
• Good understanding of health & safety within a school environment
• Reliable, punctual, and professional
• Ability to work independently and follow school procedures
• School-based experience is preferred but not essential

Compliance & Safeguarding Requirements

As these roles take place within schools, full safeguarding checks are mandatory:

• Right to Work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS Check
  • A DBS registered on the Update Service allows for faster clearance
  • If not, we can process a new DBS application (timelines may vary)
• Three professional references (Covering recent employment, ideally the last 2–3 years)
• Overseas Police Check Required if you have lived outside the UK within the last 5 years
• Completion of all required compliance documentation for school placements

Important Information

• These are temporary roles, with shift availability based on school demand
• Registration and compliance checks can take a minimum of one week, depending on documentation and DBS processing
• Once fully cleared, you will be offered work based on your availability and school requirements
