A well-established fashion retail business based in London are recruiting for an ambitious Financial Accountant to support their head office finance team.

This role involves managing the month-end close process, preparing statutory accounts, and ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting. The successful candidate will work with both internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and outsourced finance teams, to ensure the integrity and efficiency of financial operations.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform timely and accurate month-end close activities, including journal postings for accruals, prepayments, and cost allocations.

• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring general ledger accuracy.

• Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts in compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS.

• Coordinate with external auditors and support the year-end audit process.

• Liaise with shared service centres and outsourced providers on transactional finance issues.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.

• Provide support for ad hoc financial reporting and analysis.

The ideal candidate:

• ACA / ACCA qualified, with 1-3 years' post-qualified experience.

• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and standards specifically IFRS and UK GAAP.

• Proven experience in preparing statutory accounts and supporting audits.

• Advanced Excel skills and strong systems capability (SAP experience is a plus).

• High attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Collaborative team player with clear and professional communication skills.

• Experience in a multi-entity, product-driven environment (e.g., fashion, FMCG, retail) is beneficial
