Field Service Engineer

📍 Location: Nairn
💷 Pay: £16.00 - £17.50 per hour (depending on experience)
🕐 Hours: Monday to Friday, 42 hours per week (40 basic + 2 at enhanced rate)
📅 Paid Monthly | Overtime Available

Are you an experienced Plant Fitter who enjoys variety in your work? We're looking for a skilled technician to join our team in Nairn, combining workshop-based repairs with on-site field service support across the region.

You'll play a vital role in keeping our fleet of plant hire equipment operating safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards - ensuring our customers can rely on every machine we provide.

🛠️ What You'll Be Doing

Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on a range of plant hire machinery.

Carry out servicing, maintenance, and inspections in both workshop and field environments.

Respond to breakdowns and perform on-site repairs to minimise downtime.

Maintain accurate service records, parts usage, and job reports.

Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, providing clear updates and technical insight.

Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company and regulatory standards.

Support a proactive maintenance culture, identifying issues before they become major problems.

✅ What We're Looking For

Relevant qualifications in mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical engineering (City & Guilds, NVQ, HND or equivalent).

Proven experience maintaining and repairing plant machinery or similar heavy equipment.

Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to work independently in the field.

Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.

A full UK driving licence and a strong commitment to Health & Safety.
