Experienced SEN Teacher - Wigan

Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (depending on experience)

Are you a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher with a passion for supporting children with additional needs?
A welcoming and inclusive school in Wigan is looking to appoint a compassionate and skilled SEN Teacher to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with pupils who have a range of special educational needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs and EHCP outcomes

Teach small groups or 1:1 sessions depending on pupil requirements

Foster a safe, structured and engaging learning environment

Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCO, parents and external professionals

Contribute to planning, assessment, reviews and reporting in line with school and statutory expectations

Promote personal development, resilience and independence in all learners

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)

Proven experience teaching pupils with SEN in a specialist or mainstream setting

Strong knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and behaviour support techniques

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

A calm, patient and flexible approach to supporting diverse needs

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
