HGV Workshop Supervisor

Location: Hull
Salary: £48,500 per year
Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm / 8:00am - 6:00pm (alternating shifts) 48hrs

We are looking for an experienced HGV Workshop Supervisor to lead and support a skilled team in a busy 2-bay workshop. You will be managing 2 technicians and splitting your time approximately 75% on the tools and 25% off the tools, combining hands-on vehicle and trailer work with workshop management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

* Supervise and support a team of 2 HGV technicians, managing workloads, schedules, and performance

* Carry out repairs, servicing, MOT preparation, and refurbishment work on vehicles and trailers

* Maintain stock levels and ensure parts and materials are available for day-to-day operations

* Ensure all compliance, quality, and workshop documentation is completed accurately (service sheets, job cards, parts records)

* Liaise with drivers and the traffic department to discuss vehicle defects and servicing issues

* Hands-on technical knowledge with vehicles, trailers, MOT prep, and refurbishment work

* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

* Ability to work flexibly across hands-on and managerial duties

* Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
