Year 1 Teacher - Isle of Sheppey

Permanent | Full-Time | Start Date: September (or sooner by agreement)

A friendly and supportive primary school on the Isle of Sheppey is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is a wonderful opportunity to guide pupils through an important transition year, building on their Early Years foundations while introducing the structure and expectations of Key Stage 1.

About the Role

You will create a positive and inclusive learning environment where pupils feel confident, supported and motivated to succeed.
Planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons
Supporting pupils' phonics, literacy and numeracy development
Monitoring and assessing progress effectively
Preparing pupils for the Phonics Screening Check
Working collaboratively with colleagues and parents
Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and achievement

The Ideal Candidate

Applicants must:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have a recognised Bachelor's degree or equivalent higher qualification
Hold GCSEs in English, Maths and Science (Grade 4/C or above) or recognised equivalents
Demonstrate strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum
