Work Experience and Careers Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated Work Experience and Careers Coordinator to work closely with the Work-Related Career Lead (WRCL). This role involves providing a comprehensive career-related programme, identifying and securing work experience placements for Year 12 & 13 students, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Identify students ready for work experience and find suitable placements for Year 12 & 13.
  • Conduct Health & Safety checks on businesses and employers.
  • Stay updated on changes within work experience (WEX) legislation.
  • Monitor students on WEX placements and ensure employers complete performance logs.
  • Compile data reports on Career Related Learning (CRL) outcomes.
  • Arrange and track WEX participation.
  • Attend educational-career events and support the WRCL with administrative and project coordination.
  • Support the delivery of CRL workshops and help students engage in extracurricular career activities.
  • Source, recruit, brief, and advise programme volunteers for CRL events.
  • Engage employers to support work-related or vocational learning activities.
  • Undertake flexible working hours, including occasional evenings for school briefings.
  • Chaperone students to and from work experience placements and interviews.
  • Support Year 13 & 14 students in preparing for exit routes such as colleges, apprenticeships, and employment.
  • Arrange career talks with employers and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Support the Career Leader to meet and maintain the standards of the Eight Gatsby Benchmarks.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in coordinating work experience or related educational programmes.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Driving Licence is essential.
