Contract Type: Part time/ term time (Thursday & Friday 8:30-3:30).

Salary: £14-£16ph.

Our Primary is a warm and inclusive catholic school committed to providing an exceptional education for all our pupils. They believe in fostering a supportive and nurturing environment where every child can reach their full potential. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a wonderful child in KS1 who has cerebral palsy on a Thursday and Friday.

Understanding Cerebral Palsy:

Cerebral palsy is a group of lifelong conditions that affect movement and coordination. The effects of cerebral palsy vary widely from person to person. It can affect muscle tone, movement, posture, balance, and coordination. Some children with cerebral palsy may also have associated conditions such as learning difficulties, communication challenges, or sensory impairments. Understanding the individual needs and abilities of the child you will be supporting will be key to this role. You must be able to commit to supporting this child and be consistent with attendance.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide consistent 1:1 support to the named child throughout the school day.
Provide support with physio exercises.
Work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO to implement differentiated learning activities and resources.
Assist with the child's personal care needs with dignity and sensitivity.
Support the child's physical needs, which may include assisting with mobility, positioning, and the use of any necessary equipment..
Help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where the child feels safe, valued, and encouraged.
Monitor and record the child's progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.
Support the child's emotional well-being and promote their self-confidence.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all school policies and procedures.We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who:

Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
Has experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally physical disabilities.
Has a good understanding of cerebral palsy and its potential impact on learning and development (training and support will be provided).
Is patient, empathetic, and has a positive and encouraging approach.
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with the child, staff, and parents/carers.Why join Tradewind?
